Originally from Michigan, I am used to being surrounded by my family and friends. Being able to call my best friend or my sisters to run to the store with me, or just get out for a bit. In 2010, all that changed. I moved 10 hours away to the beautiful state of North Carolina. It was a hard move, but we managed. At the time, I was a mgr for a major retail corporation, a mother to 3 amazing boys and a wife to a great man. And life was good. Busy, but good. Then, in 2011 it changed again. A blessing in disguise put me in a position to have to stop working and stay home with my boys...something I always wanted to do, but couldn't. It was an adjustment...not the staying home part, but the financial end. I started babysitting to earn a little extra & loved every minute of that. After a while, I started to realize I was so busy taking care of everybody else, that I needed something that was just mine. That is how I pursued my interest in photography. SweetSights originally started as a way to share my photographs, but has developed into a source to share all things I love creating. I love that I am not limited to one thing. I still do photography. But some days, I would rather make flowers. While others I would rather spend creating invitations. The best feeling of all of it is knowing that my work is finding its way into the lives and events of others out there. Being so far away from the people I love, that little fact makes me feel like the world really isn't so big, and 10 hours really isn't that long...not when I have a paper rose bouquet living in California, or I have luminaries gracing the tables of a wedding in Georgia. It brings me calm and peace. And the absolute best feeling of it all....I am a stay at home mommy to 5 boys now & loving every moment of my soccer mom schedule!!
